This project consisted of the new construction of a 6,200 square foot pre-engineered metal building to be used by Bay County to house their roadway sign and signal division. The building is located inside the county maintenance campus and includes offices, conference room, restrooms, shower, break room, storage, and two large shop areas.

Value Engineering : With the initial bid amount significantly over the county’s budget, CC&D worked closely with the our subcontractors to offer nearly $75,000 in value engineering savings without severely impacting the end result of the project.

Direct Purchase : Through owner direct purchase, CC&D was able to capture an additional sales tax savings of over $3,500.

Schedule : Timing was critical on this project since the building currently occupied by the sign and signal division is drastically undersized and insufficient for their needs. Despite working around county holidays and being unable to work weekends, CC&D expedited the project schedule, and completed the building nearly five weeks ahead of schedule.

Owner Involvement : Due to budget constraints, Bay County elected to perform several portions of the scope of work such as sitework, utilities, cabinets, and painting with their own staff. While this work was not included in CC&D’s contract, we closely coordinated with them to ensure a smooth work flow.
